A summer internship program that’s making a difference
Every year, Gesher Human Services runs a 6-week paid summer internship program for high school students with disabilities in metro Detroit, providing them with job skills and experience to add to their resumes. The Somerset Swim Club is a favorite job site for the student interns; it is a community pool in Fraser and the interns get great exposure to a variety of work, performing ground maintenance, pool cleaning and customer service checking guests in at the desk.
