Gesher Clubhouse and MSU Students Celebrate Sukkot with New Sukkah

Clubhouse for the Common Good (23800 W. 10 Mile Road) is a day center for people living with serious mental health disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and severe depression. It offers employment opportunities, educational classes, culinary and horticultural experiences, wellness and fitness opportunities, arts enrichments and social and cultural activities to members.

The sukkah was built by Clubhouse members alongside students from Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine who are taking part in clinical rotations with Henry Ford Health System. The students spend time at Clubhouse to obtain a greater understanding of how Metro Detroiters living with serious mental health conditions live and function in the greater community, outside of a medical provider’s setting.
