Gesher Human Services Awards Night Celebrates the Power of Community

Gesher Human Services’ annual Awards Night was celebrated on Sept. 11 at the Janice Charach Gallery in West Bloomfield, where artists from Gesher’s Creative Expressions Program were showcasing their work in an exhibition called PEOPLE FIRST, which recently finished. Some of the artists had serious mental illnesses and attended the Clubhouse for the Common Good, located in The Lois and Milton Y. Zussman Center in Southfield; others had developmental disabilities and took part in Gesher programs such as Choices, an activities and skill-building program. The Awards Night was held to recognize the many outstanding achievements of staff, participants and community members who support Gesher’s programs.
