ARTIST STATEMENT & BIO

My name is Linda Gray.  I would like to share with you a little bit of my journey.

I was born to an artist of photography, since my dad owned the Detroit Film Lab where my family helped film and develop footage of Detroit Lions football games and practices.

Three years after my husband passed away in a tragic car accident, I was blessed to get involved with Gesher Human Services and Kadima.  My eyes were opened to many different forms of media for art.  From photography to felting, sewing, and cooking. I started painting lighthouses for peace of mind. I love lighthouses.

With the help of my mentor and the Creative Expressions Program, my eyes have been trained to see how the light hits the canvas differently and how to see light from morning to night with the reflections of the sun or moonlight in my paintings.

I am forever grateful for the hours of mentoring with Gesher, to help bring joy back to my life, and for helping me get back into taking photos and painting.
